The Illinois Assessment of Readiness for grades 3-8 and the Illinois Science Assessment for grades 5 & 8 will take place between March 3rd and March 21st. The specific testing schedule will be determined by each building. It is helpful to minimize any absences during this time. Students will need a working pair of wired headphones for testing. Please reach out to your child's school with any questions.

Good evening. Based on the snowfall amounts being forecasted for tomorrow, and the time frame in which the snowfall is expected to be taking place, out of an abundance of caution all District 86 Schools will be cancelled for Wednesday, February 12th. Classes will resume at their regular times on Thursday. Should anything change for Thursday, we will communicate this out accordingly. We appreciate your understanding.

Friday, February 7th, is a School Improvement Day. All students will have early dismissal. CJHS will dismiss at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will not be served. K-2 buildings will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. 3-5 Buildings will dismiss at 12:40 p.m. Lunches will be served at all K-5 buildings. There will be no classes for Early Childhood. Classes will resume at their regular scheduled time on Monday, February 10th. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.

District 86 is looking for bus drivers and monitors. Drivers start at $24.00/hour. Monitors start at $17.00/hour. We guarantee 4 ¼ hours per day. East Peoria Elementary District 86 is currently accepting applications for qualified
substitutes in the following areas: teachers for K-8, classroom aides & cooks. Subs for teachers are paid $130 per day or $155 per day for long-term positions. Subs for classroom aides are paid $110 per day, and subs for cooks are paid $14.50 per hour. Please call Tracy Ellis at (309)427-5100 for more information if you are interested.

As a reminder: In case of inclement weather, school closings will be listed on television channels 19, 25, and 31 or cable channels 7, 8 and 10 as early as possible. You may also check the district website to see if school is closed that day. An alert message will also be sent.

Given the negative temperatures and windchill projected for tomorrow, out of an abundance of caution, all District 86 schools will be closed tomorrow (1/21). We appreciate your understanding as the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. At this time it is anticipated that all classes will resume at the normal time on Wednesday. We hope this notice allows families to make arrangements for tomorrow accordingly. Again we appreciate your understanding.
